Hi Buchi, I am replying to a comment you left on My Page several months ago. I will not be running Mini Disc Golf at Worlds this year, But I already have the contract for the PDGA Pro and Am Mini Tournaments. I hope you can make it to the 2010 Worlds so we can Hang out and play some Mini.
I hope all is well with you and your family.
I am glad you will be attending The World Championships in Kansas City. What division will you be playing in?
Actually...I will be playing in the World Championships as well (playing in Am Grand Master). I got invited by the PDGA. I did not get invited on merit alone. I believe I was invited because the Am Senior Grand Master will have a low turnout and they need more older disc golfers in that division to help fill that division. Kansas City will be my first tournament of this nature. So I am expecting to have fun.
I met Toyo at a local tournament and she seems to be real nice.
Thanks for commenting to me once again.
Greetings from Finland!
In Finland the discgolf season is at it's peak. We're having a great summer and the weather is nice, so what could be better than to play discgolf.
At this stage my playing is just for fun, and I'm not too in to competitions at this stage, because I just this summer first started to play.. :) But so far, I like it alot!
Thanks for wishing me a Happy Birthday. I am honored that you did so. My birthday is on Friday and I want my special day to be a quiet one with the background music of rattling chains.
I just finished playing in the Discraft Great Lakes Open at Hudson Mills and did well for my confidence. Plus I had alot of fun. Check it out.
My name is Toyo Ohtsuka. You are right in Japan it is Otsuka. My grandfather thought it would be easier to pronounce the long "O" with an "H". My family is from Toyohashi near Nagoya. I was born their but moved to Michigan when I was 2. I spent many summers in Japan as a child. I miss it so much!
Every one in Japan is very nice and friendly. The food is amazing. I miss Osho gyoza and cake. So good! I hope to vist soon and play disk golf and bass fish. My two favorite things to do.
A number of Australians will like to make the trip to Japan next year for the Open. Can you tell me when they are likely to put information out with regard to this?
I had the pleasure of meeting the Japan Pdga representative in Asia Open 2009 and we did let him know there maybe at least 5 or so Australian Players to the tournament.
If you have any info, please let me know!!!
I am sorry Bucci, but I will not be at the World Championships this year. The tournament directors did not contact me to run the Mini Disc Golf Event. I really wish I could be there. I am not even sure that they are having a Mini event this year.
Greetings from a long ways away my friend! Wow, Japan, that is the power of the internet and this site. It can connect people from so far away. Dont know if you have seen the update but Iwamura from the Tampa Bay Rays has been injured and will be out for most of the year. It has been a bad week for the Rays and Injuries, but we have a strong farm team and will be pulling some future stars up to the major leagues soon.
Hello Bucci, I just wanted to thank you for your prayers and let you kmow that I am healing well and will be able to go back to work in a couple of days. I am ready to play Disc again, but it will be slow since I have lost alot of muscle from not using my arm and the bones are not completly healed yet.
How are things with you? I really like the new pictures on you page. I really enjoyed them. Your Friend, Donnie
Fountain in my pic is at Sabattus DGC in Maine. They have 2.5 courses, 2 of them are pro-caliber plus a short 9 which is lit up for night play. A great pro shop and the best DG facility that I've been to.
Hi! Thank you for the note. It's nice to know you. I did not know we had somebody from Japan with this site. I've heard disc golf is getting more and more popular overthere. I wish I know this sport before I left the country. Hope we can play together someday. By the way, I'm impressed by your PDGA number. I don't get to see too many 4-digiters....
