So I have noticed on NEFA.com borderlands spring fling discussion page. Some people are donating cash to pick what holes they will start on. Then I noticed some people are even picking their groups. I figured its worth a shot. I asked if the two of us could be on the same card first round. I guess the cards are mixed between divisions, but he said he would consider it when he is filling out the cards. Sounds like you have put together a little tour for us. Always up for days of disc. If you want to hit up Marshall street while your up here, we'll have to figure out a plan. See ya in a few days.
Played Maple Hill Tuesday handicap league. I wont tell you what I got for a score, lets just say Wendy could have beaten me. We played the new lay out, designed for Advanced Ams. I had one good drive the hole round, just couldn't pull it together.
Two things happened, that made me forget all about the double ob's.
1. We went to Pyramids first, to wait for a friend. Jason Southwick was in the pro shop. It has been a while since I have seen him. So he offered me a beer, sure I said. He went and got some. Knowing that I drink good beer,he lowered his head and said, "All I have are Bud." I took it anyway. After talking for a while Florida came up. I mentioned Christina and yourself. Then turbo putting came up. He was not to sure about the distance, that I told him we could hit them from. So I showed him my video on youtube. He played it over and over again. He has heard of my turbo putting but has never seen it. Then we all went next door for league. After the round while the scores were beeing checked and handicaps figured, they have a putting challenge. $15 to the winner. Everyone lines up and putts. When you miss your out. At the start 10' I put it in backhand. Then 15', the guys who know me were yelling "TURBO". So I hit it. Then 20', I could see Jason was watching so I had to make it. Hit that one also. Jason seemed impressed. By then there were only about ten of us left. 25' I waited at the end of the line this time. Again I hear "TURBO". I took my time and really threw it hard. Hit that one also. Now Jason came up to me and said, "Now I see why, when turbo putting is mentioned your name comes up." Ok 30' three of us left. Timmothy Walsh, was standing behind me, mocking me. Hit that one also. That is as far as I made it. I missed the 35' one , but hit the chains. The NEFA pres. won, beating Tim on the 40 footer. I have a feeling I will see a post from Jason about turbo putting on NEFA.com soon.
2. My card started on hole 4, when we got to hole one, one of the guys on my card aced it. It was the coolest ace I have ever seen, big S turn, right in. I am not sure how much he won but, I did hear the pot was carried over from last year.
Looks like I filled your page, sorry about the book. I could have started to talk about moving but, I'll save that for later.
Yesterday was very windy and 44 degrees, but it felt like 30. Wendy actually left work early enough to get home so we could go to league. We were automatic partners. She is really starting to play a consistant game. Even with the weather conditions we shot even par. Couple of other groups shot 2 or 3 down, the winners shot 14 down.
When I went to grab for my tee rex to throw a skip shot, I knew right where I left it. You dont need any help from my discs, so if its not to much trouble could you mail it. I put a video up on this site from the sizzler.
I thought we would stay on the same card this time for the whole tourney. Now I dont know, shooting a 60 on the long may just may put you one card in front of me. I did think about the long there. Thats why I went to Maple Hill yesterday, cant get any longer than that. It was also windy which helped me prepare for Tradewinds. I hit the basket on hole 5, parked 8, and had a skip taco on 14 but it fell out before the last person drove. Did you know that they are adding another pin location at maple hill. That will make three baskets per hole. Rec., Am, and Pro. It looks like there will be pads for each also. I have been getting help from a guy that I started to hang with alot. It is the first time that someone has actually took the time to tell me what I am doing wrong. I finally started to learn a flick. You wont see me through it in a tourney yet. He thinks that I sould give up the turbo and learn the jump putt. Then he took a look at my soft challenger that I use for turbo and it is now retired. It is no longer round, and it is concaved. He gave me a challenger that he got from MSDGC 05 with a tourney stamp. It is allmost brand new. It made a big difference. Now he thinks I should keep turbo putting. Sunday league will be starting up agian in April. They have different ways to get into league for free. Ctp on hole 3 which is were we start, longest drive, and now longest putt. The putt isthe one that I have been working on. It has to be a putt, jump, strattle, or straight on. I took some convicing but the turbo is in. I have been working on 100' sounds crazy but I can make it with my shark. Its not consistent yet but people like to see it.
Wendy and I are going to play in a little while. She wont play unless it gets up to 40 degrees. I am usually there by now.
Dam didn't mean to write a book.
Is there a site where I can study the layout of Tradewinds. I can remember the most of the holes, but it is tough to remember the long and shorts.
I finally made it out to Borderlands. Now I know why people are always talking about it. I will be going everytime I hear a group is going out there. Shot a 59 on White to White, next time will be under par now that I know the layout. Blue to Blue is a different story. Long, tough holes with narrow gaps to drive through. Most of them have a hyzer and anhyzer route which was cool. Shot a 68. Dont know if I would ever shoot under par there. Its not fun to get a seven, unless the hole is 900 feet. Two weeks til Tradewinds cant wait.
