On behalf of Juliana Korver, I am honored to announce her inaugural ladies-only disc golf event: Juliana Korver Presents La Vie en Rose.
This unique event will take place February 14-15, 2009
at The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL.
In Juliana’s words:
"Are you curious why this disc golf adventure has the name that it does? Literally La Vie en Rose translates to “the life in rose”. The English equivalent to this is “life through rose-tinted glasses” or even “life is rosy”.
If someone looks at something through rose-tinted glasses, they see only the pleasant parts of it. It is a way of life. It is an attitude that I aspire to maintain.
La Vie en Rose is a disc golf event that intends to combine many of the pleasant tournament aspects that we have experienced over the years as well as present new ones that will create a wonderful, memorable and rosy weekend.
This event is about warm fuzzies, feeling good and friendship. I hope that you all can experience the weekend through rose-tinted glasses and perhaps even take the attitude home with you to help you appreciate all that is good in life.
This will truly be a unique weekend that I hope and expect you will love."
Juliana has made the initial event announcement in person at the U.S. Women’s Disc Golf Championships and on the PDGA discussion board. For lots more information visit the tournament website:

Hi, Shiela!! I had a ton of fun playing w/ you this weekend & getting to know you!! Always great to see more women & especially fun, positive & good women out playing!! I wish I was going to be up there but can't afford the time or $ to make another trip up there. Quite honored to be asked though! Hope you find someone...check out some of the friends on my page may be some women in the area that would be interested. I can think of Jessie W from that area off the top of my head...there are probably some other options that I'm spacing too.
Good luck!!
See you soon I hope!
Hmm, I have to be at Lakewood this coming Saturday for the Friends of Hicks Lake workparty which will include 4 organizations and have already committed to that. If I were you at this point, I'd try to hook up with that girl from Terrace Creek ( I think Lowell knows there names). There are two girls who play there regularly, or also, the Northpark girls (I hear there is another one there that rocks). I think Lowell may have their contact information. I so want to say "yes" let's do it, but there are times that my long-term commitments come before disc golf pleasures. Hope you are able to hook up. You can also ask a "guy" to play. There are plenty of them around (with perki faces). :) See you soon.
Hey Sheila ~ it was such a pleasure to play alongside you at the Lakewood Open 2008 tournie in Seattle! You're a really great player and fun to play alongside.
Hope to see you around the local disc golf courses.
Hey, sorry to hear about the knee. I hope it is better soon. I actually just got asked to work 3 hours on Friday (from 11:30 to 2:30) which I think I will do now. It's probably better to be making money than spending it, I plan on going to the Grange right from work though so I should be there by 3:00. Maybe if you are feeling better we can just get a practice round in.
Hey Sheila! I just got the email that there is going to be doubles on the dark side on Friday May 23 (one more week). If you are still up for it then lets be partners. Just let me know either way.
Heck yes! I would love to be your doubles partner if they end up having it. I know they are having a tournament where 4 people who win will get free entry to the Open on the same day but they may have one tournament on the Sunny and the other on the Dark. I also heard something about the May monthly being on the Monday after so hopefully we can all make a 4-day weekend of it (Monday is Memorial Day)!
I thought I recognized you! I'm thinking Loriella maybe another tourney or two also. How are you? What was your man's name? Hopefully I'll get to see you all and Pretzel again soon!
