On behalf of Juliana Korver, I am honored to announce her inaugural ladies-only disc golf event: Juliana Korver Presents La Vie en Rose.
This unique event will take place February 14-15, 2009
at The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL.
In Juliana’s words:
"Are you curious why this disc golf adventure has the name that it does? Literally La Vie en Rose translates to “the life in rose”. The English equivalent to this is “life through rose-tinted glasses” or even “life is rosy”.
If someone looks at something through rose-tinted glasses, they see only the pleasant parts of it. It is a way of life. It is an attitude that I aspire to maintain.
La Vie en Rose is a disc golf event that intends to combine many of the pleasant tournament aspects that we have experienced over the years as well as present new ones that will create a wonderful, memorable and rosy weekend.
This event is about warm fuzzies, feeling good and friendship. I hope that you all can experience the weekend through rose-tinted glasses and perhaps even take the attitude home with you to help you appreciate all that is good in life.
This will truly be a unique weekend that I hope and expect you will love."
Juliana has made the initial event announcement in person at the U.S. Women’s Disc Golf Championships and on the PDGA discussion board. For lots more information and to post your support, please visit this discussion thread:
Also, a few other sources of information:
Shawn Harrigan and I are the Co-TD’s for this event. We’d love to have your input, assistance, and sponsorship. Please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org if you are inclined to help Florida welcome the ladies of disc golf to a wonderful weekend of competition and comradery.
Yours In Flight,

Nice pix from Whistler's. Back in 98, I remember walking up to target 10 (i think) and startling a huge flock of wild turkey. The young ones were just old enough to fly up to the mossy branches. There were about three dozen, maybe four. When they landed on the branches, they froze, and practically disappeared. very cool.
Alas, I don't know about the weekend. I shouldn't play, but I might. My arm is "slung" up and feels okay, but I can tell that's injured. I might just Caddy for Buck and let somebody fill my slot. What time you guys going to arrive on Friday? Are you planning to stay with us or camp? Parties in town. Live music, drinking, the usual... I think you should stay with us and we'll do our best to wake up early...
I am injured and probably won't be playing. We were planning to and Vieve still will. Saturday morning is the plan. Then you guys should stay in town and come party with us and our friends. I am playing a live music set Saturday evening, followed by a friends band playing a live set. We're bar-B-Q-ing, camping, partying etc. COuld you guys stay Saturday night and party with us? Also, if you want to come down Friday night and therefore be in town for Saturday morning early starts, please feel welcome. We'd love to have you! Go team BJ!
So I said that Women's Wednesday was this week, but I was confused because there were 5 Wednesdays last month, so I guess Women's Wednesday will not happen for two weeks in a row since I have it advertised as the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays. If I'm in town maybe we can play anyway??
Yes I'll be at doubles tonight at Pier. Planning to play most of Oregon as well, probably 9/10 courses in the Portland area over this week.
Washington had some alright courses, just a few great ones. So many problems with finding and playing them though, more than a typical state. It does look like Oregon is gonna be better.
Looking forward to seeing ya'll tonight. We'll probably be pulling 7:00 or so, so we'll need to get on the round pretty quick to have daylight and all. Can't wait to see the both of you and can't wait to play Willamette. It's been to long since I have been down Goodnight Ave. See you soon!
Hey yo, Yes Vieve and I are very lame. Tournaments just fell on "bad" weekends for us this year. We're making it to everyone we can (promise), so just hang in there. In the meantime, I have been itching for Willamette Park and maybe we can arrange for a gathering soon? Camping season is upon us and the drive to Corvallis is just so nice this time of year... Hmmm, anyone up for a round? I'm willing to drive out for sure...
