The sidewalk around the basket is O.B. and the palmetto bushes behind it are nasty. Trevor asked how to avoid them if he missed the putt. I told him to putt high and get it to go down through the hole as if it were a trash can. No pole, no chains, just a trash can to drop it in...

Comment by Disc-O Golf on January 14, 2013 at 1:37pm Putt to "Die at the cup" when you have a bad backstop. Ball golfers only give the putt enough power to die at the cup so the next putt is close in case they miss. You never see a ball golfer putt hard and hope it drops in the hole as it races by. This is how you putt in disc golf if you want to keep it around the basket if you miss. Visualizing a trash can helps you see the cylinder and angle you will need to get it in the circle. The pole and chains will still act as an assist. Use the pole to line up your release point. Putting and driving lessons are available at the Clearwater Disc Golf Store in Sunny Clearwater Florida...take a vacation and get good!
