Upshots

I feel this is one of the most important areas to disc golf, its also my weakest. To get dramatic improvement in this part of my game, I have decided that I am going to train on upshots for at least 1 hr a day, 5 days a week. If I can do this and stick to it, upshots should become one of my strongest points in the game. During the St. Louis open I was making some great drives, but my approach was flat out horrible. I couldn't seem to get anything going on my throws, and I was missing my targets… Continue

Training

I figured that the only way to better myself is to get my butt up do some weight training. I know that my biggest weakness is the exact area where most of the energy used, and thats my core. Core training is the worst when getting back into any training program, but i am hoping it will get better as i go along! I started off today by doing some planks, side bridge, and doing some crunches on my total gym. I also worked on my back, lats and shoulders. I know that I am going to be sore tomorrow, b… Continue

So ... how's the training and upshot practice coming along?

Personally, I've been putting a couple times a day. Short sessions, inside 30 ft, making every putt (or at least 90% of them). I stay in close so I'm making every single putt. If I miss, I move in close enough to make every putt. I never stop on a miss, and throw 2-4 putters only. Seems to be helping my putting on the course pretty well.

You staying high and dry? So far, everyone in my family has managed to stay above the water.

Welcome and I hope you'll sign on as one of my friends and contribute to any of the groups I've started; THE DISCTIONARY, THE NOMINATION STATION and The 50, 100 or Really? Clubs are just a few. The Nomination Station is where you nominate friends (or yourself) for a randomly picked MAJOR AWARD. And don't forget to download and vote for the Peace Dude Flyer, making certain to post it at the courses, the disc golf stores, on all your friends front doors and 2 on your medicine cabinet mirror.
The newest club is in support of a course in Pinconning Michigan being designed by Master Terry Calhoun. I encouage you to sign on and support.

Check "my bag" from time to time to hear some fun music, read my goofy blogs, see some killer disc designs and other offerings by michiganartist and watch for great ideas that will change the world. Let's start with a little thing like peace for all and a disc golf course within walking distance for every human inhabitant worldwide. . . Now get your discs, get to the nearest course and godiscn ! Cheers from the michiganartist, lil charlie bishop, craig or you may in fact, e-mail me at god@godiscn.com, if you like.
